Who we are. We’re a group of volunteers who want to help junior designers get hired.
Design Collective selects cohorts of aspiring designers and pairs them up with seasoned design mentors in the tech industry.
At the beginning of each cohort, student designers pick out a real-world design problem that excites them. From improving your favorite messaging app to conjuring up the new, must-have feature for XYZ, everybody is encouraged to design for impact. Students will end their cohort experience with a published design case study for their portfolio and a final design showcase in front of design veterans and entrepreneurs.
Weekly 1-1 Meetings
You'll have weekly meetings with your mentor to help keep you on track and group design critiques for more feedback.
Small cohort groups
We purposely keep each cohort small so we can all get to know each other both within and outside our design work!
Happy hours and bonding
Sadly, we can't all meet in IRL. That being said, it's widely rumored that David has been known to be quite the ukulele player at our virtual happy hours. Come find out!
Early Career Development
Other than helping you build your design portfolios, we plan on bringing in industry guest speakers, sharing personal advice from our growing community, and more!
Our mentors. From leading design teams at hypergrowth startups to building apps used by millions, our mentors have done it all.
